Page 1Clinton Haycraft, who has been operating a rendering plant north of Winterset the past three years, died Monday at his home on No. 16 after five weeks illness. The Haycraft family came to Iowa from Illinois in 1916, making their home near Woodburn. They later went to Des Moines and came to Winterset in 1924 where they have since lived.
Mr. Haycraft is survived by his wife, four sons and two daughters in the home and another son Glen Haycraft who lives in Rockford, Illinois.
Funeral services will be held this afternoon, Thursday, from the Tidrick funeral home conducted by the Rev. Arthur Hueser, pastor of the Baptist church. Burial will be made in the Primitive Baptist cemetery.

Page 4, Column 5 & 6Clinton Haycraft, son of James and Matilda Haycraft, was born at Tobinsport, Indiana January 6, 1877. His youth was spent near Tobinsport and when 20 years old he went to Illinois. He was married to Bessie Scroggie in Shelby county, Illinois in 1902. To this union nine children were born, two died in infancy and those living are Glen, of Rockford, Illinois; Loyd, Wayne, Marvin, Mabel, Alvin and Dorothy still in the home.
The family moved from Illinois to Woodburn, Iowa, in 1916 and later moved to Des Moines. They came to Winterset in 1924 where they have since lived.
When a young man Mr. Haycraft was converted and united with the Baptist church at Olney, Illinois. He was a faithful worker, a good father and a great lover of his home. He died after five weeks illness November 7, aged 50 years, 10 months and 1 day, leaving beside his wife and children, three brothers, one sister and other relatives and many friends.
The Rev. A. S. Hueser will conduct the services in the Tidrick funeral home at two o’clock this afternoon, November 10 and the burial will be in the Primitive Baptist cemetery.
