Friday noon, after an illness of many months, Michael Kalb passed away. It is only, however, within a few days that the deceased has been confined to his house. He was a quiet, steady, industrious and upright man. The family has resided in this city since 1891.

The deceased was born in Pomeroy, Ohio, October 4, 1841. He was married 30 years ago. He came to Iowa in 1882. He leaves a widow and three married daughters to mourn his death. The funeral occurred Sunday from the house and the remains were taken to Penn Center for interment. The funeral sermon was preached at the Christian church Sunday, by the pastor. The deceased had been a member of the Lutheran church since 1856.
