Funeral services for C. C. Jurgenson were held at the Trinity Lutheran church Saturday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. C. Lilie, and the body was laid to rest in the Lutheran cemetery.

Carl Christian Jurgensen was born in Schleswig, Germany, September 14, 1857 and departed this life at his home near DeSoto, January 21st, 1936 at the age of seventy-eight years.

He was baptized in early infancy, and received into communicant membership of the Lutheran church at the age of fifteen years by the rite of confirmation.

On July 14th, 1882 he was united in marriage with Miss Marie Tuxen. To this union five children were born, three sons and two daughters. One daughter, Mrs. Anna Fredrickson preceded him in death at the age of 18 years.

The family came to this country in 1907, settling on a farm near Woodward. In 1910 they moved to Minnesota. In 1917 they moved to DeSoto where they have resided ever since. Mr. and Mrs. Jurgensen were married 53 years, celebrating their golden wedding anniversary in 1932.

The survivors are besides the widow, three sons, Herman, Gust, and Gerhardt of DeSoto, one daughter, Mrs. Martha Amundson of Mora, Minnesota, twenty grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
