Miss Genevieve Emerson, who teaches school in Norwalk, came Saturday accompanied by a friend to spend the week end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Emerson and brother, Harlan Emerson, who came to attend the burial services of Mrs. Effie Gabbert Jones, who passed away at Stuart, Saturday.

Page 5Mrs. Effie Gabbert Jones, youngest member of the well known Gabbert family of Madison county, who lived near Stuart, died Saturday morning at Stuart. The services were held in Stuart and burial was in the Fairview cemetery north of Winterset.

Mrs. Effie Gabbert Jones was born in Madison County, Iowa, on January 25, 1869, and died in her beautiful farm home west of Stuart on April 25, 1936, at the age of 67 years and three months.
On March 11, 1917, she was married to Charles F. Jones, who preceded her in death on February 21, 1931. After her marriage to Mr. Jones she lived in the Stuart community continuously.
Mrs. Jones was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. In her younger days she was very active in the church serving as a Sunday school teacher for years.
Those left to mourn our one sister, Mrs. Harriet Foster of Sioux City, Iowa; one brother, Thomas Gabbert, of Ventura, California; one step-son Clyde Jones of Menlo, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
The funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m., Monday in the Buckley and Bufkin Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Roy E. Gugeler. Burial was made in the Fairview Cemetery south of De Soto, Iowa.
