James Ivyl Slaybaugh

James I. Slaybaugh, the son of James Edward and Brenda J. Slaybaugh, was born January 4, 1961 in Winterset, Iowa and passed away August 22, 1989 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Jimmy attended school in Earlham and was active in sports, cars, pool and loved people.

On July 11, 1981 he was united in marriage with Shelly Ball of Earlham, Iowa and to this union were born two children, Nathan and Jamee.

Jimmy was currently living and working in Shreveport and was in partnership in a construction company.

He is survived by his wife Shelly; son Nathan; daughter Jamee; his mother Brenda of Des Moines; his father and stepmother Marilyn of Earlham; a sister, Rhonda Knock of Minburn, Iowa; his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ivyl Slaybaugh of Earlham; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Herschel D. Hester of Des Moines; a niece, many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services were conducted August 26, 1989 at First Presbyterian Church, Earlham, Iowa with Reverend Stewart Brooks officiating. Cecil Van Houten was organist. Pallbearers were Dan Douglas, Jim Vanande, Jerry Cooper, Richard Cooper, Jim Kress and Jerry Cairns. Interment was in Earlham Cemetery, Earlham, Iowa.
