Earl W. Putney, age 70, of Rt. 3, Brodhead, Wisconsin, passed away Monday, January 24, 1977 in a Madison, Wisconsin Hospital. He was born in Stuart, Iowa on June 20, 1906, the son of Earl and Melissa Julian Putney. He was united in marriage to Mabel Taylor July 14, 1927 in the Presbyterian Church in Earlham, Iowa. They farmed in the Stuart area until 1947 when they moved to Brodhead, Wisconsin.

Survivors are his wife, Mabel, one son, Earl C., four daughters, Mrs. Dennis Pryce, Mrs. Judith McKinney and Mrs. James Gould, all of Brodhead, Wisconsin, and Mrs. Donald Bladorn, of Orfordville, Wisconsin; one sister, Mrs. Mary McCorkel, of Rockford, Illinois, 14 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Earl William, in 1944, a daughter, Earline, in 1939, and one sister, Ruth.

Funeral services will be today (Thursday, January 27) at 1:30 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home in Brodhead, Wisconsin. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.

Graveside services will be Friday, January 28, at approximately 1:30 p.m. at the Earlham Cemetery, Earlham, Iowa.
