A Mass of Christian burial for James F. Cassady, 70, who died Friday, December 23, 2016 at Arbor Springs in West Des Moines, IA after a long battle with Alzheimer's, will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, December 29 at the Church of the Assumption, Churchville, IA with burial following in Calvary Cemetery, Churchville.
Jim is survived by his loving wife Sharon; sons, James M. (Cindi), Brian, Jason (Amy) and daughter Anne Cassady-Hornick (Dave); his grandchildren, Mason, Logan, Colin, Owen, Ryan, Brynn, Quinten, Braelynn and Sarah; brothers Thomas (Jan), Robert, sister Diane McCauley (Tom), sister-in-law Jane Cassady; aunt Helen Bacon of Boone, IA and numerous nieces, nephews and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John M. Cassady and aunt Mary Loretta Dooley of Winterset, IA.
Visitation will be held 4 to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, December 28 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with family present. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the family in Jim's name for future remembrances to honor and remember Jim.
