Mr. Charlie Herren passed away Saturday evening in the Greater Community Hospital in Creston. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in the Methodist church in Macksburg with burial in the Moon cemetery.

Charles Herren, 92, a lifetime resident of Madison county and a longtime resident of the Macksburg community, died at the Greater Community hospital at Creston at 8:30 p.m. Saturday. He had been ill for five weeks.
Mr. Herren had been a farmer for many years.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Macksburg United Methodist church. Rev. Robert Almquist, the pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the Moon cemetery at Macksburg. His body will lie in state at Coens Home for Funeral until 9 a.m. Tuesday, when it will be taken to the church to lie in state before the services. The casket will not be opened after the services.
Charles Herren was born in Grand River township, Madison county, March 26, 1876. He was the son of John L. and Susan Bruce Herren. He was married at Patterson, April 16, 1905, to Flossie Gillogly.
He is survived by his widow; a son, Robert Herren of Creston; a daughter, Mrs. Daisy Dell King of Lorimor; and a sister, Mrs. Lillian Bolt of Perry.
Mr. Herren was a member of the Macksburg United Methodist church.

Funeral services for Charles Herren, who died Saturday at the Greater Community hospital, were held at 2 p.m. today at the Macksburg United Methodist church. Rev. Robert Almquist officiated. Burial was in the Moon cemetery at Macksburg..
Mrs. Calvin Schultz was pianist with Donald Herren as vocalist. Pallbearers were: Calvin Schultz, Floyd Evans, Leslie Bush, Claire Ballard, Earl Whitworth and Bill Thomas. Coens Home for Funerals had charge of arrangements.
