Macksburg

Mr. Cecil, who died some where in Nebraska was brought here for burial Saturday. The funeral was held at the M. E. church Saturday morning conducted by Rev. Spooner.

Another Old Soldier Passes Away

Andrew Jackson Cecil was born in Kentucky, May 8, 1928, and died in Nebraska, June 29, 1911, aged 83 years, 1 month and 21 days. He was united in marriage with Drusilla Vanlandingham, May 10 1849.

Twelve children were born to this union, ten of whom are living, two sons, Samuel and Isaac dying in infancy. The wife and mother preceded him to the better world May 19, 1896. He leaves to mourn his loss beside a host of friends ten children: Mrs. Ella Barlean of Davis City, Nebr., Mrs. Keziah Kinsella of Greeley City, Nebr., Mrs. Jemima Biggerstaff of Afton, James Cecil of Creston, George Cecil of Haigler, Nebr., Mrs. Jane Pearson of Earlham, Mrs. Mary Larkin of Afton, Mrs. Hester Conklin of Haigler, Nebr., Mrs. Rosa Cline of Nicola, Canada and Chas. Cecil of Macksburg.

The remains were brought to Afton Friday night. The funeral services were held at Macksburg Saturday morning at 11 o'clock conducted by Rev. Spooner of that place. Interment was made in the Macksburg cemetery.
