Mary Jane McFarlin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Moses Johnson, was born March 12, 1872 in Clinton county and passed away at the Dexter Clinic Saturday morning at one a.m. at the age of 74 years, 5 months and 19 days.

Mrs. McFarlin was united in marriage to Charlie McFarlin November 3, 1889. Their first years of married life were spent on a farm north of Clinton. In 1902 they moved to the farm seven and a half miles south of Dexter. In 1925 they moved to Dexter where they have made their home for the past 21 years.

One year ago Mr. McFarlin preceded her in death. She was his constant companion during his three years of sickness and has been in failing health since, but did not take seriously ill until four weeks ago and was later taken to the Dexter Clinic where everything was done for her recovery and her loving family was beside her to the end.

She was a member of the Penn Center church and was later transferred to the Methodist church at Dexter where she has been a member for many years. She belonged to the Rebekah lodge and was active in all church work.

Mr. and Mrs. McFarlin celebrated their fiftieth or Golden Wedding anniversary at their home in Dexter on Nov. 13, 1939. Scores of friends and relatives called at the open house reception.

The children were all present except Vianna Stabler of Seattle, Wash.

Services were conducted Monday, Sept. 2 at 2 p.m. by Rev. J. Neal Clemmer. The members of the Rebekah Lodge attended in a body.

Casket bearers were Harry Dunmire, ----- Leeper, Charles Walsh, James Hill, W. D. Knight and Ed Marston.
