Lois P. “Patty” Lenius, 91, of Fairmont, Minn., formerly of Winterset, died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016, at the Lutz Wing of the Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Fairmont.

A memorial service and burial will be at a later date in Van Meter.

Lois Patricia Patnaude, the daughter of Henry A. and Hilda (Sykes) Patnaude, was born on April 21, 1925, in Methuen, Mass. She graduated from Searles High School in Methuen. Patty then attended nursing school. On April 9, 1948, she was united in marriage to Charles Lenius at Methuen, Mass. After their marriage they moved to Des Moines, Iowa, where they raised their family and eventually made their home in rural De Soto. Charles died on May 21, 1985. After living in Van Meter and then Winterset, Patty moved to Minnesota to be near her daughter, Joan, and made her home in Amberfield Apartments in Sherburn. She then moved to Ingleside Assisted Living until becoming a resident of the Lutz Wing in Fairmont since October of 2014.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sister, Fay Wiese; brother, Henry “Bud” Patnaude and other relatives.

She is survived by her children: Steven of Estacada, Ore., Joan (Eldon) Madison of Sherburn, Minn., and Kathy (Jerry) Sanok of Alden, NY; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and brother, Neil Patnaude of North Andover, Mass.
