Funeral Held For Mrs. Schnoover

Jessie Blanche Schoonover, age 84 of St. Charles died July 6,at a Des Moines hospital.

A daughter of Samuel S. and Sarah Buck Nicoson, she was born at Van Meter on Sept. 27, 1884. On Feb. 25, 1905, she was married to Waterman Taylor Schoonover.

She taught in rural schools, and was assistant postmistress at St. Charles for 17 years. She was a member of the St. Charles Methodist church, and a past member of the order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by one sister Mrs. Lou McCleary of St. Charles.

Preceding her in death were her husband, four brothers, and four sisters.

Funeral services for Mrs. Schoonover were held this Tuesday afternoon from the Kale Funeral home in Truro, with the Rev. James Louk officiating. Burial was in the St. Charles cemetery.

Mrs. Schoonover Dies Sunday

Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 8, for Jessie Blanche Schoonover, 84 who died Sunday, July 6, at the Des Moines General Hospital. The Rev. Jim Louk conducted the 1:30 p. m. funeral from Kale Funeral Home in Truro with interment in the St. Charles Cemetery.

Jessie Blanche Schoonover was born September 27, 1884, in Van Meter, Iowa, the daughter of Samuel S. Nicoson and Sarah Elizabeth Buck Nicoson. She attended school in the Madison County Schools. On February 25, 1905, she was married to Waterman Taylor Schoonover. No children were born to this union. She lived all her married life in Madison county where she taught in rural country schools and was assistant postmistress at St. Charles for 17 years. She was a past member of O.E.S. and Methodist Church at St. Charles.

She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Lou McCleary of St. Charles, Iowa; several nieces and nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 4 brothers and 4 sisters.

ST CHARLES

Mrs. Susie Myers of Dayton, Ohio and Mrs. Reva Smith of Moline, Ill. and her son in law Don Gordon of Freeport, Ill. who were called here by the death of their aunt, Mrs. Jessie Schoonover, remained in St. Charles last week to be with another aunt, Mrs. Lou McCleeary.
