Beverley Joan Carson, daughter of Walter Lee Hurt and Leona Cornelia Boughton Hurt was born June 16, 1936 in Winterset, Iowa and passed from this life Monday, September 26, 2016 at Clarke County Hospital at 80 years of age.
Along with her family, Bev moved to Murray in 1940 and was raised on the farm eight miles north of Murray. Beverley received her early education at Bunker Hill country school and then attended Murray High School graduating in 1954.
She was united in marriage to Darrell Douglas Carson on her birthday, June 16, 1955 and three daughters, Pamela, Kathy and Patty blessed this union.
Bev worked for many years at Dekko in Osceola and Murray. She was the first one hired in the area and held various positions through the years including Office Manager and lastly as a Controller for the company.
Bev had many interests throughout her life; she enjoyed snow skiing, reading, camping, feeding her birds, especially the Orioles, dancing and making her famous turtle candy. She was also a member of various bridge clubs and the Red Hats. She loved attending all sporting events especially those involving Murray Schools and her great-granddaughters. Some of Bev's greatest times were spent traveling with Darrell along with Carl and Margaret Gaumer to Alaska and various other destinations.
Those relatives who preceded Bev in death were her parents, Leona C. Hurt and Walter L. Hurt as well as her daughter, Kathryn Annette Carson.
Bev leaves to cherish her memory; husband, Darrell of Murray, Iowa, daughter, Pamela (Ken) Caldwell of Grand Island, NE; daughter, Patty J. Reynolds of Osceola, IA; grandsons, Eric (Yoko) Caldwell, David Caldwell and Steven Greenland all of Grand Island, NE; great-grandchildren, Jalyn Johnston and Jalyssa Caldwell. Also surviving is her sister, Bertina (Max) McCleary of Grimes, IA as well as other relatives and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Murray Athletic Department.
