OBITUARY
Daniel Duffy died Thursday, May 12, 1910, at the home of his sister, Mrs. W. C. Smith in Lee township, after a lingering illness with consumption.
The deceased was 46 years of age. He was born in this vicinity and grew to manhood on the old Duffy farm near where he died. More than 20 years ago, he left this place and since then has traveled extensively throughout the United States.
Last spring he failed in health and spent the remainder of his days at the home of W. C. Smith. For the past three months, he had been bedfast. All that kind care and medical aid could do was of no avail and at sunset of May 12th, his spirit winged its flight, to repose again with its Creator.
During his last illness he again united with the Holy Catholic church in which he was reared. During his life of wandering he became careless of his religious duties but gladly returned to the faith of his childhood when opportunity presented.
Funeral services were held from St. Patrick’s church on Saturday, conducted by Rev. Father Dugan, and interment in St. Patrick’s cemetery. Rest in peace.
