Joseph Greer Mahan Died Here April 4

Joseph Greer Mahan died April 4, at his home in Winterset at the age of 82. He was born in Warren county, February 2, 1863, the son of John and Sarah Mahan. He was a member of the University Church of Christ and the Methodist church at Patterson. He also attended church in Winterset as long as his health permitted. On March 11, 1886 Mr. Mahan was united in marriage to May Potter of Patterson. To this union were born four children. One son, Earl, died in 1919.

Survivors include his wife; three children, Frank Mahan of Winterset; Lester Mahan of Patterson and Mrs. Fern Anderson of Woodward, Iowa; two sisters, Mrs. Etta Miller and Mrs. Cora Barkley of Fort Des Moines; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Anderson home for funerals Friday, April 6. Rev. L. F. Davis had charge of the service. Interment was held in the Winterset cemetery.
