TOM MCDONALD, Waverly, Illinois

Tom McDonald, age 64, of Waverly, Il. died Sunday (August 28, 2016) at Auburn Healthcare & Rehabilitation in Auburn.

He was born June 24, 1952 in Winterset, Iowa son of the late Clarence and Violet Allen McDonald.

He married Cindy M. Walters on July 21, 1984 in Winterset, Iowa and she survives.

Also surviving are two sisters, Karen Beckman of Watertown, Wis. and Jill Hoffman (Dick) of Huntley, Il.; one brother, Ivan McDonald (Barb) of Des Moines, Iowa; niece and nephews, Marshall, Karl, Laura, Chris, Kent, and Scottie.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister in infancy; and his step-mother, Elsie McDonald.

Tom was a trucker for 35 years who graduated from Winterset High School in Winterset, Iowa and later from Ft. Madison Community College Truck driving school. Tom was a veteran of the U. S. Army. Tom loved to drive trucks and being on the road and tinkering on small engines. Tom enjoyed his animals and loved spending time with his “boys” Luke, Bennet, Brady, Caleb, Josh, Vance and Colton.

Funeral service will be held 4 pm. Friday (September 2, 2016) at the Neece-Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Waverly, Il. Burial will be in McDonald Cemetery in Winterset, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until the time of service Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Waverly Rescue Squad c/o Neece-Airsman-Hires Funeral Home, 349 Tanner, Waverly, IL. 62692.
