Rick G. Young, son of Larry Gene Young and Sherry Marie Klobnak Young was born March 8, 1970 in Des Moines, Iowa and passed from this life Saturday, July 30, 2016 in Canada while on his annual fishing trip. Rick was forty-six years of age.
Rick attended school at Interstate 35 and graduated from high school in 1988.
Soon after high school, Rick began working for the Super Valu Warehouse in Des Moines and continued his work there for nearly ten years. He later began doing various carpentry jobs for people and turned this into his new career. He formed his own business, Kwality Karpentry and had enjoyed this venture for nearly eighteen years. Rick was a devoted member of the St. Charles Fire Department where he served as the secretary and treasurer for many years. Rick loved the fire department and would do absolutely anything for its betterment. He was also a member of the Teamsters Union while working at the Super Valu Warehouse in Des Moines and in years past he was involved as a 4-H member and also FFA.
Rick was a hard worker and enjoyed the construction business however, he also had a passion for farming and raising his cattle. He also love being outdoors hunting and fishing when he could.
Those relatives who preceded Rick in death were his grandparents, Andy and Mabel Klobnak and Milton and Helen Young. He was also preceded by his brother-in-law, Jeff Young.
Rick leaves to cherish his memory; parents, Larry and Sherry Young; daughters, Mikayla Paige Young and Madelyn Nicole Young; brother, Brian (Chasity) Young; sister, Tracy (Bill) Truman; longtime partner, Cindy Kern and her son Jason (Erin) Feathers; nieces and nephews, Jaclyn, Lexi, Tanner, Cassidy and Nicholas; as well as many other aunts, uncles, other relatives, friends and last but not least Rick's faithful companion, Trigger who went with him nearly everywhere.
Memorial Contributions may be directed to St. Charles Fire Department.
