February 17, 1937 - July 2, 2016Memorial services for Donald Jerome Dreyer, age 79, of Winterset, Iowa will be held, 2:30 p.m., Friday, July 8, 2016 at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning 1:30 p.m., Friday, up until service time.
Donald Dreyer was born February 17,, 1937, the son of Larry and Eunice (Scott) Dreyer in Atlantic, Iowa. He married Margaret Jacobson in November of 1957. Margaret passed away in July of 1973.
He worked at the Atlantic News Telegraph prior to serving his country in the United States Army. Following his return from the service in 1962 he worked as an auto mechanic for Lavine Garage. He later worked as a mechanic in Atlantic for a time before settling in at Cardinal Glass in Greenfield, Iowa. He worked for Cardinal Glass for twenty three years before retiring in 1999.
On August 30, 1974 he married Judy McDonald at the United Methodist Church in Winterset, Iowa. They made their home in and around Winterset until his death.
Donald was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret, and his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Judy and his beloved dog, Suzy Q.
