CHARLES A. MARK OF DESOTO DIES

Sudden Heart Attack Last Wednesday Proves Fatal

DESOTO—Charles A. Mark, well known retired farmer of this community, died suddenly at his home here last Wednesday evening, Sept. 19, of a heart attack. He had been in ordinary health during the day, and his death came as a shock in this community.

Mr. Mark was 73 years of age. He was born on a farm near DeSoto, April 6, 1878, a son of George M. and Mary Ann Mark. His active life was spent in farming in the DeSoto, Winterset, and Cumming communities.

He was married Aug. 5, 1903, to Leona Brown. Her death occurred in 1946.

He is survived by one son, Marion Earl Mark of DeSoto.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Earlham Presbyterian church in charge of the Rev. S. R. Overholser, assisted by the Rev. Floyd Newbrough of Van Meter. Burial was made in the Earlham cemetery.
