Henry Hoover, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Stevens, Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Stevens, and Mr. and Mrs. Grover Fenimore went to Des Moines to attend the funeral of Mrs. C. Fred Porter, Sunday.

Mrs. Porter, who was the wife of State Comptroller Porter, was a native of Madison county. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hoover. Burial was made in New Virginia.
