Donald Lee Dillinger, 81, of Marengo, Iowa, died Friday, May 27, 2016, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 31, at Clover Ridge United Methodist Church in Walford, Iowa, with interment following at Oak Hill Cemetery in Belle Plaine, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Clover Ridge United Methodist Church.
Don grew up on a farm in Iowa and continued the family legacy of becoming a successful farmer. Earlier in his life he was very active in sports and enjoyed playing men’s fastpitch softball as a pitcher. In addition, he was an auctioneer for numerous family estate sales and farm sales.
He was preceded in death by his father, Verl Dillinger; mother, Inez Dillinger; and brother, Robert Dillinger.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Dillinger; children, Rick (Jetra) Dillinger, JoAnn (Swede) Erickson and Teresa (Tom) Seiwert; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several other family members and friends.
