Succumbs at Her Farm Home Near Pitzer Last Sunday
Mrs. Etta J. Shoff, a life-long resident of Madison county, died Sunday at her farm home near Pitzer. She was 67 years of age.
Mrs. Shoff was born in Webster township Jan. 16, 1880, the daughter of Robert and Eliza McMichael Hindman. As a young woman, she was a teacher in the rural schools of the county until her marriage, Nov. 19, 1902 to Lemuel R. Shoff, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Shoff was the mother of one son, John Herman Shoff, now of Des Moines. She also leaves two grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and a brother, Alex Hindman of Englewood, Calif.
Mrs. Shoff had been a member of the Pitzer church since girlhood.
Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home, in charge of the Rev. W. A. Muir of the Pitzer church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
