June 25, 1939 - March 27, 2016LaDonna Speer of Prole died Sunday, March 27, 2016 in Stockdale, Texas from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was 76.
A visitation will be held from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 7, at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset, where family will be present to receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 8, at the Winterset Community Church where a reception will immediately follow and burial will take place at a later date.
Memorials may be directed to the family for a later distribution.

LaDonna Kay Brown was born June 25, 1939 in Winterset, Iowa, the daughter of Ernest and Ethel (Murphy) Brown. She graduated from Winterset High School in 1957 and attended Iowa Wesleyan. She later married Wayne Speer on August 28, 1960 at the First United Presbyterian Church.
LaDonna was a dedicated farmwife and homemaker. After her children were raised she worked outside of the home first for Continental Western Insurance in Des Moines, JW Hutton in St. Charles and finally she worked with the Madison County Memorial Hospital.
She was a member of the Patterson United Methodist Church where she was an active member and often played piano and organ for services and special activities. She was a very talented musician and in addition to piano and organ, she could play the mandolin, violin, guitar and accordion. She was also a member of the Farm Bureau Women, the Winterset Square Dance Club and Sunshine Garden Club. She loved flowers and gardening, was a talented seamstress often mending the boy’s pants and she enjoyed quilting. All this said, she was a devoted, wife, mother, sister and grandmother who cherished time spent with family, especially her grandchildren and great grandson.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne Speer of Prole; their children, Glenna Camp of Winterset and Craig (Charlotte) Speer of Winterset; her siblings, Elaine (Robert) Newton of Winterset, Loyde “Bud” (Sandi) Brown of St. Charles, Arlene (Bryce) Beerends of Monroe, and Mary (John) Onstot of Newton; sister-in-law, Jacki Brown of Jacksonville, Florida; 7 grandchildren, Logan Camp (Kelsey O’Mara), Landon Camp, Lucas Camp, and Lauren Camp, Skylar (Lindsay) Speer, Trenton (Kelsey) Speer, and Tanner Speer (Nicole Travis); and one great-grandchild, Will Speer. She is further survived by several nieces and nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
LaDonna was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Larry Brown; and son-in-law, Tim Camp.
