Richard Lee Caudle, son of John and Janice (Kimzey) Caudle, was born June 4, 1959 in Osceola, Iowa. He graduated from Orient-Macksburg High School in 1977. Rick continued his education at Iowa State University, obtaining his Bachelors in Agricultural Business in 1981 and later acquired his MBA from Drake University in 1988. Rick was united in marriage with Deanne Meier on October 27, 1984 in Dexter, Iowa. Two daughters were born to this union.
Rick worked for Brenton Banks from 1981-1986. He then began working with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency as a national bank examiner. He was a member of the Waukee United Methodist Church where Rick enjoyed facilitating small groups and served on the Board of Trustees. Rick enjoyed Sudoku puzzles and watching movies, especially those directed by the Coen Brothers and recently Oscar nominated films. He smoked meats and made his own BBQ sauces. Rick also had a passion for craft beers and Tegestology – the collecting of craft beer coasters. Some of Rick’s favorite memories include: anytime he got together with his beloved daughters, seeing people he mentored succeed within the OCC, going to the Des Moines Playhouse with the Craigmiles, walks around Lake Zorinsky in Omaha, and visiting a brew pub to acquire another coaster for his collection. Above all else, he was blessed as a parent to have raised two daughters that love each other as much as Mandi and Dana do.
Rick is survived by his loving wife, Deanne Caudle of Waukee; two daughters, Mandi (Josh) Buffon of Santa Barbara, CA; Dana Caudle of Vancouver, British Columbia; brother, Ron Caudle of Des Moines; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Roger Caudle.
