Wayne, the five-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Jake Kirsch, died Wednesday evening, March 6, at the Polyclinic hospital in Des Moines from injuries received Monday evening. He and an older brother were at the barn and the brother threw a pitch fork up into the nay mow, but it bounded back striking Wayne in the face. A prong of the fork ran into his nose and penetrated into the brain causing brain fever from which he died.

He was a lovable little fellow and had many friends who with his family mourn his death.

Funeral services were held at the home Saturday morning at ten o’clock; burial was in Peru cemetery.
