August 30, 1973 - March 22, 2016Tracy Hockemeier, 42, of Winterset, died Tuesday, March 22, 2016.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, March 28, 2016 at the Jackson Building on the Madison County Fairgrounds in Winterset, with family present to receive friends during this time and funeral services will begin at 7:00 p.m.
A reception will immediately follow funeral services and the family requests you dress casually in camo and/or your Iowa Hawkeye clothing.Memorials may be directed to the family for a later designation and online condolences may be made to the family at ochiltree.com.
Tracy Lyn Hockemeier, son of Rudy and Janice (Meyer), was born August 30, 1973, in Perry, Iowa. He graduated from Prairie Valley High School in Gowrie, Iowa in 1991 and was united in marriage to Megan Fell on September 4, 2004 in Pigeon Forge, TN.Tracy was a Leadman at the Martin Marietta Rock Quarry in Earlham where he worked for the past 6 years. He previously worked with his brother as Hockemeier Construction.
Tracy was a jack of all trades and could fix, design and build almost anything; having designed and built two homes with his wife. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Tracy had a contagious laugh and was an awesome guy who would most wish to be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, son, father, brother and friend.
Tracy is survived by his wife, Megan Hockemeier of Winterset; his children, Trayton Hockemeier of Winterset, Marissa Hockemeier of Dubuque, Trey and Sophie Hockemeier both of Winterset; his father, Rudy Hockemeier of Ogden; siblings, Crystal (Chris) Searles of Lenox, Matthew (Lisa) Hockemeier of Boone, Corey (Annette) Hockemeier of Paton; sister-in-law and brother in-law Chelsey Soder (Tyler Flinn) of Indianola; grandmother, Marie Hockemeier of Gowrie; several aunts and uncles, extended family and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother and special friends, Jodi Scott-Lawman and Larry Fry.
