Shirley Ann Willis, 86, peacefully passed away on Wednesday March 10, 2016 surrounded by family.
Shirley was born January 27, 1930, in Kingfisher County, Oklahoma to Robert Loyd Davison and Josephine Stalder Davison.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Raymond Rudolph Willis, two sisters, Glenda Gerdeman, Las Vegas, New Mexico, and Jean Davison of Borger, Texas. She is survived by a sister, Sandra Thompson of West, Texas, three children, her son Ray Don (Ellen) Willis of rural Adel, Iowa, her daughter Jo Ella Willis of Iowa City, Iowa, and her daughter Lu Ann (Mike) Ross of Aurora, Colorado, 4 nieces and 2 nephews.
Shirley was a homemaker and after raising her children she and Rudy embarked on a number of cruises, traveled the country in their motor home and eventually settled in a home in Mission, Texas where they spent winters before returning to their home in Iowa for the summers. Shirley loved the sun, was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, watching sports on T.V., playing bridge, bowling, golfing and having a cup of tea with good friends. She was an active member of the UCC Church in Truro, Iowa.
Shirley's life will be celebrated in a private family service at Young's Cemetery at a later date.
