Hastings Funeral Home in Perry, is in charge of arrangements for Jeanie (Edmondson) Marshall, 54, of Perry. Jeanie died on Thursday February 25, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center, in Des Moines.

Visitation will be on Friday, March 4, 2016, starting at 2:00 p.m., with family present 6 until 8 p.m.

A funeral will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016, at 10:00 a.m., at Hastings Funeral Home, in Perry.

Jeanie is survived by her daughters, Nikki (Jim) Graham and Danielle Fessler both of Perry, mother, Leanna Edmondson, of Earlham; sisters, DeAnna Radcliff (Rick) of Johnston and Ronda Clement (Doug) of Earlham.

Jeanie Jo Edmondson Marshall, daughter of Robert Lee and Leanna Sue Edmondson was born Jan. 26th, 1962 at the Madison County Hospital in Winterset, Iowa and died surrounded by family and friends on February 25th, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines at the age of 54. Jeanie Jo grew up in Earlham and graduated from Earlham Senior High School in 1980.

She had a beautiful singing voice, and sang often in plays while in school. She was also involved in Swing Choir, Band, and Cheerleading. While attending high school, Jeanie Jo worked at the Earlham Nursing Home as a Nurse’s Aid and Med Aid. After high school, she went on to DMAAC where she got her nursing degree. Jeanie Jo worked at the Perry Manor while attending college. Throughout her nursing career she worked at Dallas Co. Hospital, Adel Acres Nursing Home, and Des Moines General Hospital. Her career as an RN allowed her to pursue her passion of helping people.

On Dec. 1st, 1984 Jeanie Jo was united in marriage to Mick Fessler in Earlham, Iowa. The couple resided in Perry and were blessed with two children, Nikki Jo and Danielle Renee. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, medical TV shows, and cross stitching. She also loved country music and football, especially the Chicago Bears, but her favorite pastime was simply spending time with her family. She was united in marriage to Steve Marshall on July 6th, 1996 in Dawson, IA. They made their home in Perry, IA where she continued her career as an RN. During these last several years, she loved going on road trips with her companion, Rex Mattes. This allowed her to see the entire country, and she especially fell in love with North Carolina.

Jeanie Jo was preceded in death by her grandparents and her father, Robert Lee Edmondson. She will always be remembered by her daughters, Nichole Graham (Jim) and Danielle Fessler (Jeff Cechovic) both of Perry; six grandchildren; her mother, Sue Edmondson of Earlham; her two sisters, Ronda Clement (Doug) of Earlham and DeAnna Radcliff (Rick) of Johnston; her companion, Rex Mattes of Perry; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many, many friends. Services were held at the Hasting Funeral home in Perry, Iowa on March 5th, 2016.

Jeanie Jo Marshall (Edmondson), daughter of Robert Lee Edmondson and Leanna Sue Frederick Edmondson, was born January 26, 1962 at the Madison County Hospital in Winterset, Iowa and died surrounded by many loved ones on February 25, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa at the age of 54.

Visitation service was held on Friday, March 4, 2016, starting at 1:00 p.m., with family present from 5-7 p.m., at Hastings Funeral Home, in Perry. A Funeral Service was held on Saturday, March 5, 2016, at 10:00 a.m., at Hastings Funeral Home, in Perry. Words of comfort were officiated by Reverend Tim Johnson, of First Christian Church, in Perry. Honorary bearers were Jacob Graham, Riece Graham, Sydney Graham, Gavin Kercheval, Parker Kercheval and Caiden Cechovic. Recorded music selected by the family was, "Amazing Grace", "How Great Thou Art" and "Wind Beneath My Wings".

Interment will be held at Earlham Cemetery, in Earlham, Iowa, at a later date.

Jeanie Jo grew up in Earlham, Iowa and graduated high school there in 1980. She had a beautiful singing voice and many solo parts in plays while in school. She was also a cheerleader all through junior high and high school. While attending high school Jeanie Jo worked at the Earlham Nursing Home as a nurse's aide and med aid. After school she went on to get her nursing degree from DMACC. Jeanie Jo worked at the Perry Manor while attending college.

Jeanie Jo and Mick Fessler were united in marriage on December 1st, 1984 in Earlham, IA. The couple was blessed with two children Nikki Jo and Danielle Renee. They made their home in Perry where Jeanie Jo got a job as an RN at Dallas County Hospital. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, medical TV shows and cross stitching. She also loved country music and football, especially the Chicago Bears (Da Bears). What she loved the most was spending time with her family. Jeanie Jo worked at Adel Acres nursing home as an RN.

She was then united in marriage with Steve Marshall on July 6th, 1996 in Dawson, IA. They made their home in Perry while she worked at Des Moines General Hospital for a number of years as an RN. She loved helping others and taking care of them.
