Mrs. Elizabeth Whitenack, a resident of Buena Vista county for 48 years, passed away Wednesday, February 20, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mabel Witter, north of Storm lake, at the age of 74 years, 5 months and two days.

Mrs. Whitenack was a patient sufferer for ten weeks, during which time she was cared for by her six children and her sister, Mrs. Rankin.

She was a loving wife and mother and will be greatly missed by her children and a large circle of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held from the Methodist church Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. O. M. Bond, and burial was made in the local cemetery. Many were in attendance at the funeral and the floral offerings were many and beautiful, showing the high esteem in which Mrs. Whitenack was held. A quartet composed of Mrs. Elmer Hammer, Mrs. Ralph Sheffield, Fred Witter and Ernest Witter sang three requested numbers. "Abide With Me," "No Night There," and "God Will Take Care of You." Pall bearers were close relatives of the deceased. R. V. Whitenack, L. O. Myers, L. L. Waggoner, M. F. Milton. Edwin H. Witter and Raymond Waggoner.

The husband and father preceded her in death 11 years ago. One daughter, Mrs. Alcy James, passed away nine years ago, and a son, Charles, died in early infancy.
