WILLIAM “BILL” GOODMAN, Council Bluffs, Iowa

Jan. 10, 1949 - Dec. 8, 2015

William "Bill" James Goodman, 66, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, died Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at Nebraska Skilled Nursing & Rehab in Omaha, Nebraska.  Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, December 11, 2015, at McCalley-Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with Pastor Terry Kerr officiating.  Burial will be in the Peru Cemetery at Peru, Iowa.

Bill was born on January 10, 1949, at Winterset, Iowa to Wesley and Mary (Post) Goodman.  Having attended grade school in Winterset and then in Missouri, Bill graduated from Tech High School in Des Moines.  He joined the US Army and served as a helicopter mechanic, being stationed in Korea and Germany.

He had many jobs throughout the years until he found what he enjoyed doing the most, being an over the road truck driver.  He loved traveling and seeing the countryside.  Bill was a nature lover and loved all animals.....except snakes.

Bill had lived in Council Bluffs for 27 years and is survived by his life mate, Rodney Majors of Council Bluffs; sisters, Opal Stiles of Des Moines, Sheri (Mike) Baker of Adel, and Rose (Don Cavner) Bass of Adel.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Mary (Post) Goodman; stepfather, Lee McNeley; and brother, Wesley Eugene Goodman.

Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 PM on Thursday at McCalley-Collins Funeral Home.  Memorials may be given to the family for a future designation
