Frank E. Starr died at Wasson Lake, Minnesota, May 24, 1931, at the age of 72. He was born at Agency City, Iowa, on December 2, 1858, grew to manhood in and around Van Meter, Iowa, and was married to Rose M. Ladd on Jan 23, 1890. He leaves his wife and two sisters, Mrs. Ella Burdick of Custer, Michigan and Mrs. Capatola Cole, of Rock Island, Illinois. The funeral was held at the home of W. L. Clayton at 2:30 o'clock by the Rev. S. E. Peaters and laid to rest in the A. F. F. cemetery at Van Meter.
Those who drove to Van Meter to attend the funeral of Frank Starr were Mr. and Mrs. D. B. Monk, Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Ladd, Mr. and Mrs. John Moody, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Blernan, Mrs. Otto Fundlnger, and Mr. Frank Peed.

Mr. and Mrs. Otto Zieman, Don and Pauline and Mrs. Otto Fundlnger attended the Frank Starr funeral which was held in Van Meter Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Starr was a former Jefferson township resident, but had left here to make his home in Dakota, but of late years moved to Minnesota. The body was brought to Van Meter for burial.
