Dwight Smith, Des Moines

Dwight L. Smith, 80, of Des Moines passed away on November 19, 2015. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at Brooks South Town Chapel located at Sunset Memorial Gardens. A visitation will take place on Tuesday, November 24 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M at the funeral home.

Dwight was born on November 11, 2015 in Winterset. He enjoyed camping and fishing. He was a member of the Moose Lodge.

Dwight is survived by his children, Leonard (Cindi) Cannavo, Helen (Terry) Morgan, and Kathy (Frank) Edwards; sister, Beverly Hidebrad; brothers, Carl Smith, Jr., and Raymond Smith; 19 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and a host of extended family. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Irene Smith; parents, Carl and Marie Smith; and brother, Arthur Smith.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
