Death of W. R. Smith

Mr. W. R. Smith, a pioneer settler of Brush Ridge, in South township, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Elmer Johanson in Elmore, Minnesota, on Tuesday, September 18th, following a stroke of paralysis, at the age of 82 years.

Mr. Smith came to this county in the early seventies, settling and making his home near Blair Chapel, until a few years ago when he went to Swea City to live with his daughter.

He is survived by Robert, Jr., and Alick, of California; Julius, of Rochester, Minnesota; Mrs. Ivor Clark, of Winterset, and Mrs. Mart Gresham, of Gannvalley, South Dakota.

The funeral took place at Blair Chapel on Friday at eleven o'clock. The services being conducted by Mr. John Maxwell of Wick.
