Mrs. Tom McCauley Finds Her Baby Dead by Her Side. Was in Good Health
When Mrs. Tom McCauley reach over to take her baby in her arms Tuesday morning before she got up she was horrified to find the child’s body was cold. It was a minute or two before she could realize that the child was dead.
The baby was five months old and was in apparent good health. It had been sick a few weeks ago but had recovered and was growing strong and vigorous.
The parents, who are young people living in the southwest part of town, had been with their two children at the Rufus Clark home the evening before, and when they retired that night the child was apparently as well as usual. Both of them slept soundly and did not hear the child make any unusual noise.
The funeral occurred from the home Thursday afternoon.
