Thursday, February 9, 1905After a brief illness Uncle Sol Odell passed away Sunday morning. Mrs. Odell is very sick being confined to her bed at the time of the funeral.

Thursday, February 9, 1905Solomon Odell was born in Crawford co., Ohio, May 19, 1828 and died at his home at East Peru Sunday, February 5, 1905. The cause of his death was pneumonia.
Mr. Odell was married to Miss Frances Caskey November 21, 1850 and to this union were born eleven children. He with his wife came to Madison co. in 1854 remaining but a short time, then removed to Adams co., lowa, returning to this county in 1861, settling on a farm in section 14, Scott township.
His wife died in 1879 and some time later he was married to Anna Allcock, who with four children by the first marriage survive him. The funeral services were held Monday and interment made in Winterset cemetery.

Page 5Sol. Odell after a short time of sickness died on the 6th. Funeral services were held at the home by the pastor, Rev. Williams, after which he was buried at Winterset. Mrs. Odell was seriously sick at the time but is now on the road to recovery. John Odell, whose home is in South Dakota, was wired but did not get there until the day after the funeral.
