Mrs. William Lodge died Sunday, January 22 at her home in Bevington. The deceased was born July 31, 1849 in Barren co., Kentucky and removed with her parents to lowa in 1864 and settled in Madison county. She united with the Brethren Church in 1875, of which she remained an active member. She was united in marriage to William Lodge May 29, 1879.

The burial service was held at Blair Chapel January 24th. She leaves a husband, a son and three daughters, two sisters, and three brothers and a host of friends to mourn her loss.

Mrs. J. A. Sandy and Miss Nellie Kegley went to Bevington on Monday to attend the funeral of their aunt Mrs. Wm. Lodge.

Bevington News - MRS. WILLIAM LODGE

Our community met with quite a loss in the death of Mrs. William Lodge. Died at her home in Bevington, January 22nd, 1905, Mrs. William Lodge, after a short illness of congestive fever. The death of this good and noble woman caused a great shock to the entire community.

Her maiden name was Bethelin Scrivner and she was born July 31st, 1849 in Bairen county, Kentucky, and moved with her parents to Madison county, Iowa, 1864. She was united in marriage May 29th, 1879, to William Lodge, who with one son and three daughters survive her. She was a devout member of the United Brethern church.

Her funeral was conducted by Rev. Rarick, of St. Charles, and interment was made at Blair cemetery. She was a sister of Thomas, William and Chris Scrivner and Mrs. H. Kegley, all of Madison county, and one sister, Mrs. Boston, who resides in Oklahoma.

Local Tips
