Mrs. Ed Cox received word Sunday of the death of her brother-in-law, Everett Cox, at La Grande, Oregon. He was a resident for a number of years of Penn Township.

Service Set For E. Cox

Everett I. Cox, 61, died in a local hospital yesterday following a short illness. Funeral services have been announced for 2 p.m. Wednesday from the chapel of the Snodgrass Funeral Home. Rev. Gene Robinson will officiate and burial will be in City Cemetery.

Mr. Cox was born in Iowa on Oct. 6, 1892. He had been a resident of La Grande for 16 years and he was last employed as a taxi driver.

His only local survivor is his widow Emma of 1011 Benton st. Two sisters, Mrs. Linda Marston, Dexter, Iowa and Mrs. Grace Stegall, Earlham, Iowa survive along with other relatives.

Coordinator's note: The deceased was born in Earlham per his WWI Draft Registration and census records show him in Madison County until after 1935.
