Thursday, August 4, 1927Funeral of Mrs. H. L. Shoemaker
Funeral services for Mrs. H. L. Shoemaker, of Fort Dodge, who died Thursday were held at the Methodist church here on Saturday afternoon.
Mrs. Shoemaker, a former resident of Inwood, passed away in a Sioux City hospital after an illness of two years caused by a complication of ailments attendant upon her advanced age, 71 years.
She was married October 17, 1875, at Macksburg, Iowa, to Rev. H. L. Shoemaker and they came to Inwood, where Rev. Shoemaker was the pastor of the Methodist church for a year and a half.
Mrs. Shoemaker was preceded in death by her husband six years ago.
Surviving are one daughter, Miss Mary of Fort Dodge, with whom the deceased made her home; and three sons: W. B. Shoemaker, of Bantry, North Dakota, who was unable to be here; C. E. Shoemaker, of Akron, Iowa; and C. H. Shoemaker, of Lisbon, Illinois.
Rev. T. L. Basset, of Sioux City, a former minister of the Methodist church here, officiated and interment was in the Richland Cemetery.
