Yesterday's Des Moines Daily News gives the particulars of the death at his home in Kingman Place, in that city, of Mr. C. S. Newcomb, formerly a citizen of Earlham. Two weeks ago today he met with an accident in a runaway, injuring one hand severely. However he was thought to be recovering satisfactorily, but on Saturday evening he suffered a relapse and lockjaw set in, causing his death Monday forenoon. In the mean time his suffering was intense.

Mr. Newcomb was a little past fifty years of age, and leaves a wife, a most estimable woman, and two accomplished daughters, Misses Vergie and Minnie Newcomb.
