St. Charles

About one year ago J. M. Foster fell dead while plowing in his field, three miles east of town. At the time of his death among the children left to the care of his widow was a pair of twin babes two weeks old. In June of this year the whooping cough was introduced into the family, and one babe soon died, and now after a long siege of suffering the other has been taken. It was buried in our cemetery on Friday.

OUR CORRESPONDENTS

The grim messenger of death again visited the home of Mrs. Mary Foster last Friday, and took away her youngest son. About six weeks ago her youngest daughter was taken away from her. May the dark cloud soon pass and the sun shine again.
