When a boy of 10 years he came with his parents to Iowa and settled on the old Handley farm west of Lorimor. Here he spent his boyhood days. He was married to Emma Givan May 10th, 1891. Ferris or “Fad” as he was known to everyone will be missed in the community. His unfailing good humor and his neighborly spirit won him many friends. He was a devoted husband and was always interested in the welfare and happiness of his children.

Although he was not a member of the church he believed in the Bible and enjoyed very much the services over the radio.

Besides the immediate family he leaves to mourn his loss, seven grandchildren, three brothers and one sister, John and Ezra of Winterset, Harvey and Celia of Lorimor.

He was in usual health until about two weeks ago, and even then his sickness was not considered serious, but in spite of all that physicians and loving hands could do he passed away September 5th.
