Mrs. Celestia Brewer Bardrick

Celestia, daughter of John and Ann Brewer, was born in Winterset, Iowa, December 26, 1854, and departed this life March 22, 1931, at the age of 76 years, two months and 23 days. She spent her girlhood days in Winterset with her parents.

August 22, 1872, she was united in marriage to Isaac Groves Bardrick. Later they with her parents left Winterset and moved to Doniphan, Nebraska, where several years of her life were spent. They returned to Iowa again about 1888.

To this union were born seven children, five girls and two boys. Her husband and five children having preceded her in death, only two daughters remain to mourn her departure. They are Mrs. Metta Thornburg, Winterset; Mrs. Lizzie Goodwin, Summerfield, Kansas; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, besides a host of friends here and elsewhere.

In her girlhood she was a member of the First Christian Church here and since then has been a member of different churches where she has lived, having belonged for several years to the Methodist Church in Webster. At the time of her death she was a member of the Brethren Church of Council Bluffs.

The last few months of her life were spent in the home of Mrs. Goodwin where she passed away. Funeral services were held March 24 in the Brethren church at Summerfield, Kansas, and she was laid to rest in the cemetery at Axtell, Kansas.
