Andrew Hartsook died at his home in Des Moines last Wednesday, August 19th.

The funeral services were held at the White Funeral Home on Friday and burial was in the Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines.
Mr. Hartsook was the oldest of Mr. & Mrs. William Hartsook. He was born in Lincoln Twp. Madison Co., and raised in the Ord neighborhood.

He owned the farm now occupied by Marion Graves, selling it m 1905. Mr. Hartsook and his family then moved to Des Moines where he entered the real estate business. He retired several years ago.

Two years ago, he suffered a severe stroke and has been nearly helpless since that time.

He is survived by his wife, and three sons, Arthur, Fred Q., and Robert, all of Des Moines. Mrs. Hartsook is a sister of John Seiler, of Winterset. Mr. Hartsook also leaves two brothers, Fred and Ben, of Winterset and three sisters, Mrs. Frank Bell, of Winterset; Mrs. Ralph Schoenenberger, of Marshailtown and Mrs. Newt Newell, of Howard, Kansas.

ANDREW HARTSOOK DIES IN DES MOINES

Andrew W. Hartsock, 69, former resident of Madison county, died August 19 in Des Moines. Funeral services were held Friday with burial in Glendale cemetery.

Mr. Hartsook was the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Hartsook, pioneer settlers of Iowa who came to Madison county in 1869. He was born February 17, 1862 and since 1905 had lived in Des Moines.

His wife and three sons survive, Robert, Fred Q, and Arthur, all of Des Moines. F. P. Hartsook and Ben Hartsook are brothers, and Mrs. Frank Bell a sister. A large number of relatives and former neighbors of the family went to Des Moines Friday to attend the services.

Coordinator's note: Transcribed as published, his father's obituary states that the family came to Madison County in 1853.
