September 1955Funeral services were held for Mrs. O. L. Walker Wednesday afternoon at the Methodist church with Rev. Anthony Blankers preaching the funeral sermon. Music was furnished by Mrs. Charles Soderberg and Mrs. Von Fletcher, with Shirley Oaks at the organ.
Burial was made in the Earlham cemetery. Fred Hodson, Chester Stanley, L. R. Goeldner, Orman Osborn, Byron Huffman and Ross Reynolds were casket bearers.
Cora Bagley, daughter of Isaac and Samantha Bagley, was born at Mazon, Illinois September 26, 1867 and departed this life August 21, 1955 at the age of 87 years, 10 months and 25 days.
On October 28, 1889 she was united in marriage to Oliver L. Walker, two children were born to this union. On March 1, 1904 the family moved to Iowa, living near Dexter for several years and later moving to Earlham. Following the death of her husband in 1941, she made her home with her daughter for several years. The last two years were spent in the Rowe Nursing Home in Des Moines.
Mrs. Walker joined the Methodist church when young and continued in her membership, affiliating with the Earlham church on coming to this town.
Mrs. Walker is survived, by her son, Reid Walker, of Tuxedo, North Carolina, her daughter, Mrs. Mervyn McLennan, of Earlham, one sister, Mrs. Lillian Taylor, of Mazon, Illinois, three grandchildren, Mrs. Paul Benson, of Kingston, New Jersey; Gene Walker of South Charleston, West Virginia; and Mrs. Marvin Busch of, Carnarvan, Iowa and six great-grand-children and several nieces and nephews.
Out of town relatives and friends attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Walker of Tuxedo, North Carolina; Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Busch of Carnarvon, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Harrison Bagley of Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. George Atherton and Mrs. Burr Cushman of Dexter; Mr. and Mrs. L. S. McKibben, and Miss Ruth Smith, of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held last Wednesday from the Earlham Methodist church for Mrs. O. L. Walker, a long-time resident of Earlham, who died Aug. 21 in a Des Moines nursing home. She was 87 years of age.
Mrs. Walker was the former Cora Bagley, daughter of Isaac and Samantha Bagley. She was born at Mazon, Ill., on Sept. 26, 1867. As a young woman she was married to Oliver L. Walker. In 1904 they moved to Iowa, living near Dexter for several years. and later moving to Earlham. Her husband died in 1941. After that she made her home with a daughter for several years. The last two years were spent in the nursing home.
She was a long-time member of the Methodist church.
Surviving are a son, Reid Walker of Tuxedo, N. C.; a daughter, Mrs. Marvyn McLennen of Earlham; a sister, Mrs. Lillian Taylor of Mazon, Ill.; three grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
The Rev. Anthony Blankers preached her funeral services. Burial was made in the Earlham cemetery.
________________________Coordinator's note: It has been claimed that her middle name was "Blanch" but no vital record containing Blanch has been found. She is "Cora B." in several censuses but that may stand for her maiden name. In the 1870 census, she was "Cora V.".
