Mary Alta Golightly

Mary Alta Golightly, 85, of North Webster, IN passed away at 8:20 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at her home. She was born on May 3, 1930, in Redfield, IA to Oran Sr. and Lula (Devilbiss) Clements.

She attended elementary school at Stuart, IA and Earlham, IA. She graduated in 1949 from DeSoto High School in DeSoto, IA and was married on Sept. 26, 1953, in Des Moines to John Robert Golightly who preceded her on May 28, 1992. She was a homemaker and retired from HyVee Grocery Store after 15 years of service. She was formerly employed at Bell Telephone in Des Moines, IA, Harvey’s Greenhouse in Adel, IA and was a nurse’s assistant at a nursing home in Adel, IA. She moved to Indiana in 1996 from DeSoto, IA.

She was a member of the Bread of Life Church in Goshen and formerly attended Faith Christian Fellowship in North Webster.

She is survived by: a daughter, Linda Neal of North Webster, 3 sons, Mark Robert Golightly of Perry, IA; John Thomas (Joy) Golightly of Richmond, TX; Timothy Wayne (Beverly) Golightly of Des Moines, IA, 4 Grand & 14 Gt. Grandchildren, 5 sisters, LaVonne, Nellie, Sarah, Ruth and Beverlee, 3 brothers, James, Fred & Thomas Clements.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter – Robin Golightly, son, Max Golightly, 2 grandsons, 3sisters, Dorothy, Elsie and Edith, and brother, Oran Clements Jr.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & CR 500N, North Webster, IN. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. with family present to greet friends beginning at 12:00 p.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home, 1721 Park St., Perry, IA. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, DeSoto, IA at 3:00 p.m.
