MRS. MAUDE LYONS KALE

Florence Maude Lyons, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Lyons, was born in Madison county, Iowa, Jan. 15, 1893 and died at her home north of Truro, Saturday evening, Aug. 4, 1917, age 24 years, 6 months and 20 days.

She received her education in the Truro school, where she graduated in the class of 1908 with high honors. The following five years were spent in teaching near Truro and in New Virginia. Her kind and loving disposition won her many friends wherever she might be.

On Feb. 22, 1916, she was united in marriage to Harry W. Kale at the home of Mr. and Mrs. P. K. McKee of Indianola, Rev. Wilson of the U.P. Church of that place officiating.

Uniting with the M. E. church as a child, she was always active in church wherever she lived or taught. In the fall of 1915, her health failed and since has been slowly declining. All through her illness, Maude was a patient sufferer and always had a smile and a cheerful word for everyone. Her Savior has now called her home, where there will be no more suffering or sorrow.

She leaves to mourn her loss, a husband, father, mother and four sisters: Mrs. E. M. Lawrence of Osceola, Blanche, Jessie and Flossie Lyons of Truro, besides a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held from the Methodist church Monday, Aug. 6th at 10:30 a.m. Conducted by her former pastor, Rev. C. K. Corkill, under whose preaching she was converted several years ago.

Her remains were laid to rest in the Young cemetery to await the resurrection morn.
