Jenkin Jackson Young, born Westmoreland county, Pa. Aug. 23, 1828. Moved to Harrison county, Ohio when 4, moved to Carroll county, until 21. Moved to West Virginia. Married Miss Sarah Ann Buchanan, May 23, 1854.

Arrived in St. Charles Dec. 6, 1859, then moved to 40 acres where Young Cemetery is located.

Died March 31, 1917. Wife and 11 children survive, 38 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren. Thos. J., St. Charles; Mrs. Francis Musselman of Truro; Elmyra Mann of DeWitt, Mo; Mrs. Laura Habenicht of Cedar Falls; Cassius J. of St. Charles; Mrs. Mary Wilson, Red Oak; Mrs. Leverna Gassauer, Comargo, Okla; Mortimer R. Young, Cestus, Okla; Mrs. Liva Foreman, Truro; Mrs. Violet Foreman, Red Rock, Okla; Ellsworth Young, Truro.

One daghter, Cora Josephine d. at 1 year 7 days.

Death of JENKIN J. YOUNG

Jenkin Jackson Young died at his home in Truro, Saturday, March 31st, after a short illness. Mr. Young and family came to St. Charles in 1859, remaining there a few months, then removing to a farm which he managed for sixteen years. Then he located in 1875, near Truro, living there for thirty five years, when they moved to Truro.

Mr. Young married Miss Sarah Buchanan in West Virginia in 1854. To them were born twelve children, all but one living to attend their father during his last illness. Mrs. Young survives her husband.

His long life of more than 88 years, was marked by strong qualities of character and mind. Funeral services were held in the M. E. church at Truro Monday morning, conducted by the pastor, assisted by Rev. McElroy of the St. Charles U. P. church, followed by interment in St. Charles cemetery.
