Kansas Man Commits Suicide

Monte G. Warner, 27, of Emporia, Kansas died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head on Friday evening, March 26.

Gary Janssen, acting county medical examiner, pronounced Warner dead at the scene.

Warner’s body was discovered at about 6:30 p.m. in Pammel State Park southwest of Winterset by park ranger Bill Mishler, who was on a routine patrol of the park.

Warner’s wife, Janet and child are residents of Winterset. The body was taken to Collins Funeral Home and later sent to Eagleville, Mo., where his parents reside.
