Rev. Chas Hoover after a long and painful Illness died on the 13th at the home of his brother, Henry, near Elm Grove. Funeral services were held at Union Chapel, conducted by Rev. Corkill and Rev. S. Howe, after which he was laid to rest in the near-by cemetery. A good man has gone and the large number attending the funeral told of the high esteem in which the community held him.

Many readers of this paper in Madison county and elsewhere, will hear with deep regret, the announcement of the death of Rev. Chas Hoover. "Uncle Charley" as he was familiarly addressed by his friends, passed away on last Friday after a long illness. Funeral services and burial was at Union Chapel on Sunday. Uncle Charley made no pretenses in the realms of high theology but he had that sincere, earnest, consecration to the Master's work that touched the hearts of men and women.
