George W. Imes was born in Holmes county, Ohio, Dec. 25, 1845 and died at Truro, Oct. 30, 1916. He came to Madison county at 9 years of age. Mr. Imes was married to Mary J. Caskey, March 13, 1881. To this union were born 4 children, 2 sons, 2 daughters. One son Ralph preceding him in death. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Arvalah Attig and Mrs. Ivy Youmans both of Truro, one son, Roscoe of Osceola. Burial cemetery east of Truro.

George W. Imes

George Washington Imes was born in Holmes county, Ohio December 25, 1845 and passed away at his home in Truro, Iowa, October 30, 1916 of plural pneumonia.

He came to Madison county, Iowa, with his parents when nine years of age. He was married to Mary J. Caskey March 13, 1881. To this union were born four children, two sons and two daughters; one son, Ralph, preceding him to the glory world when a child. His last illness was short, during which loving hands did all in their power to relieve his suffering, but God in his wisdom doeth all things well, said it is enough, come up higher.

He was converted at the age of 38 and joined the Christian church at Truro, and remained a member till death. He left the assurance that he was ready to go and had no fear of death.

He leaves to mourn his loss a loving wife, two daughters: Mrs. Arvalah Attig and Mrs. Ivy Youmans, both of Truro, and one son, Roscoe, of Osceola, four grandchildren, four brothers and three sisters, besides a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at the Christian church at Truro, conducted by Rev. Beougher and the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery east of town.
